The United Nations, climate change and you: how to get involved in COP29 and beyond

University of Leeds UNFCCC TaskForce, was able to conduct - “The UN, climate change, and you: how to get involved in COP29 and beyond” on Monday 14 October 2024, under the wonderful leadership of Dr. Clare Martynski, Prof. Richard Beardsworth, Prof. Jason Lowe, Dr. Shona Smith, Dr. Debbie Rosen and Dr. Harriet Thew in the School of Earth and Environment (hybrid) - as an internal event to cover: general engagement with UN Climate Change processes; how the University of Leeds is involved as an observer; reflections on SB60 and looking forward to COP29 Azerbaijan specifically; and how it all fits into the bigger picture. Being part of the Task Force as a youth representative, I am proud to see, discuss, participate and bring in student-perspectives for impactful engagement for the UNFCCC COP processes over the last year. Grateful for Priestley Centre for Climate Futures for facilitating all of this in the larger umbrella within and beyond the Uni. Stay tuned to know more about our presence at Baku for COP29.
